One of Yamada Bee Farm's contributions to society is that we are planting trees domestically and abroad. We are working to protect natural environments in Nepal, Mongolia, and around our company in Japan.
In 2001, we collaborated with federally-funded Yokohama University to conduct a survey of the plant life in Mongolia. As a result of the survey, it was found that Mongolia is rapidly becoming a desert, and in order to restore it to its former state we have started planting trees there.
In June 2004, over 200 Japanese and Chinese individuals, including employees of Yamada Bee Farm and the Mongolian government, participated in tree planting activity at the foot of the Huhehoate Mountain in Mongolia. The difficult living conditions are the reason for restoring life there, and under the direction of Dr. Akira Miyawaki of the International Life Science Center, planted 20,000 trees of varieties such as Maple and Quercus liaotungensis.
It will take some time for this tree planting to have an effect, but Yamada Bee Farm will be active in supporting the restoration of this natural environment. |
